I recently received a copy of Lee-o-netto’s death record from Allegany. It does provide me with a few new items to work with, but of course, it doesn’t answer all my questions and it raises new ones!

Lee-o-netto’s Death Record
Carrie’s 1931 Death Record
Another record and another disappointment. Today I am posting the Death Register record from East Randolph, NY for Carrie (Kanistanaux) Horton.
Carrie & Fred Horton update
Sorry for the long delay since my last post. Well, that’s not exactly true. Spring has arrived in Maine and it has been wonderful weather. Much too nice to sit in front of a computer!
Anyway, I am back hard at work tracking down leads. Today I begin posting a few stray bits and pieces of the Kanistanaux story while waiting for town records and before moving back a generation to see what turns up for the Moulton family.
Our friend, Randy Blood, found Carrie and Fred Horton in the missing 1905 and 1920 census years. The census does provide another residence location for them, but not much else. It is always nice to have a complete accounting in census. You never know what question might answered in the future.
1930 Census for the Horton Family
Today I am posting the last census for the Horton family. I was unable to find them in the 1920 Census. I did not take the time to search Randolph page by page, since I have them in a number of census already. However, descendants should take the time to find them in 1920, just in case there is something important to learn from it.
1910 Census for the Horton Family
The post today will show the Horton Family in Randolph, Cattaraugus Co., NY for the 1910 Census year.
1930 Allegany NY Census
I thought this might be the last census for a while. However, I recently found an obituary that provided some new data and will sending me searching for still more census records. With most genealogy research, finding one answer very often creates more questions.
1920 Allegany NY Census
When Isaac Kanistanaux died in 1920, his death notice suggested he was survived by a sister “Dr. Lee Onetto of Allegany”. It took a bit of creative searching but I eventually found her.
Kanistanaux in Cattaraugus County History
In today’s post I will present another item from local history that mentions the Kanistanaux family.
