Is This Marleah in 1870?
I have been searching for Layton & Marleah in census records prior to the 1875 NY State Census. I had no luck searching on the family name Kanistanaux. I decided to try just “Marleah” in an 1870 census search. I was surprised and very pleased to find a possible candidate.

Today is the beginning of a series of census records documenting the family of Caroline Augusta Kanistanaux. I found them from 1880 through to 1930, including the New York State Census.

I have one last census record for the Kanistanaux family to post at this time. This is the last one that was easy to locate. I still have other family members with missing census records and have located nothing prior to 1875.
